Summer 4-Day Raku Workshops 2009

Dates:

July Workshop 14-15 & 21-22
(4 days within a 2 week period)

August Workshop 11-12 & 18-19
(4 days within a 2 week period)

By demonstrating a large range of hand-building techniques combined with a finely tuned instructing philosophy, these Raku workshops encourage individual artistic growth and creative thinking. For those interested, the Raku Workshop can also include a session on alternative cone 6 oxidation glaze strategies. The workshops are directed by ceramic artist Jim Thomson, and open to adults of every level of experience.

The workshop includes full breakfast and lunch and each group of participants is asked to supply a co-operative one evening meal for everyone.

Accommodation (first come first serve basis) is available in the loft over the studio, spare room in the cottage, or in the cozy trailer near the lake. There are also many interesting places to pitch a tent and for those wishing more private accommodation, billeting is available with a neighbouring cottage across the bay.

The lake is pristine and is excellent for swimming and canoeing.

Fee: $460.00. Materials extra at cost (approx. $20.00).

Maximum of 8 participants.
